On #MedalOfHonor Day, we remember Sergeant First Class Alwyn Cashe. Three weeks after saving six fellow soldiers and an Iraqi interpreter from a burning car on October 17, 2005, SFC Cashe passed from his burns. He posthumously received the Silver Star, but after a campaign by former leaders and colleagues of Cashe, his award was upgraded to the Medal of Honor in late 2021.
