Softball

Softball is a sport most of us grew up playing. It's a sport that takes away the worries of the world, taking us back to a time when our lives were less complicated.

Summertime....Softball....what better way to pass the summer evenings! The first year Operation Comfort sponsored an amputee softball team. The following three years we sponsored a league, six teams consisting of 100-120 players. These teams consist of wounded service members and the staff who support them throughout their rehabilitation. Most of these men and women have served in Iraq or Afghanistan and have suffered many different kinds of injuries, yet they want to play softball. Operation Comfort provides them the opportunity to come out and play, brining their families with them and enjoying their summer eveings in the ball park.

The players choose their team name and the color of their T-Shirts. They're very excited about competing against each other and are looking forward to the season. Some of the past team names have been Damaged Goods, Chop Shop, Diablo Dogs, Spartans, and Wolf Pack.

If you would like to contribute to our softball season please do so by going onto PayPal on our website. Your funds will be used to purchase softballs, bats, gloves, t-shirts and registering the teams.
