Selma Schertz Salute to Service Members 5K Run/Walk/Roll coming up Saturday, February 29, 2020

We have a FREE Kids Run for ages 3-8, a most patriotic contest and prizes for most patriotic male and female, a silent auction, live classic rock music from The Guilty Party as well as food, drinks and kid friendly activities. All proceeds from this event go to Operation Comfort www.operationcomfort.org which is a local non-profit for wounded, ill and injured service members and their families.

There are awards for regular categories as well as adapted divisions: Overall Male & Female, Overall Masters Male & Female, Age Groups: 14-under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 & 65-over Male & Female 1st-3rd.

There are 6 adapted divisions. If you have questions on which adapted category to register for please email [email protected].

1. Adaptive ambulatory (runners/walkers with prosthetic, orthotics, cane, etc.)
2. Hand Cycle
3. Recumbent
4. Motorized category (power chair, scooter, Segway- max speed 8mph)
5. Wheelchair racing
6. Manual chair & sports chair

Race Day Schedule:
7:00am-8:30am -Packet Pick-up, Day of Registration, and Kids Freedom Fun Run Sign up
9:00am - Opening Ceremony
Kids Freedom Fun Run Begins
5K Begins Immediately after completion of Kids Freedom Fun Run
Awards and After Run Party in Runners Village with Vendors, Beer, Food & Drinks, Silent Auction, Kid Friendly Activities and Live Music by the Guilty Party
NO REFUNDS-RUN RAIN OR SHINE. The course is open to traffic during race. Service Dogs are welcome with vest. No other animals are allowed.

$30 Through Feb 26th at 5pm
$40 Feb 27, 28, and Race Day

Want to run but can’t join us in person? Sign-up as a ghost runner! We appreciate your support, but ghost runners do not receive a t-shirt.
Kids Freedom Fun Run is Free for ages 3-8.
We will have one heat for ages 3-4 and one for 5-8. On Site sign up is required day of. The Kids Freedom Fun Run and 5k are two separate races. If your child wants to do the 5K with chip timing and awards they must register and pay.
