Special Events
We provide various special events to engage, educate and empower.
These events get everyone back into the community and comfortable with their new normal. Special events include community reintegration outings, adaptive sport clinics, camps, and competitions.Outings are for Veterans and their immediate families.
Outing activities include paddle boarding, kayaking, archery tag, golf and visiting different places in San Antonio and surrounding communities.Ladies specific outings include craft nights, berry picking, among other activities.Clinics and camps are educational, introductory events in various sports. Each year in March we host the San Antonio Military Adaptive Cycling Camp in collaboration with the Audie Murphy VA Recreation Therapy team.Every August we host the San Antonio Rampage Sled Hockey Camp which is a 3-day camp for people ages 18 and up with a physical disability.We host and assist with different adapted sport clinics year round.
The Veterans are encouraged to participate regularly, challenge themselves and help others. Our Ambassador Athlete program identifies those who go above and beyond. These athletes hold leadership roles in our cycling program. Texas Regional Games and Valor Games Southwest are large-scale adapted sport competitions in San Antonio we assist with each year.
Other annual special events include the Selma/Schertz Salute to Service Members 5K Run/Walk/Roll every February and our annual Memorial Day Car Show each Memorial Day.
